Description:
The Ottawa chapter would like to add another mooring buoy close to the current MillesRoche Powerhouse site. The new mooring would be for the Powerhouse Wier that is part of the lock/canal infrastructure. This would reduce congestion at the Powerhouse site and provide another very nice and interesting historical site. This area is very popular. We would not require a mooring block because there is sufficient points to securely attach a mooring buoy on the structure without any damage (ie. the lock structure is very very robust). Depth is max 50 feet. This will provide a much safer area for diving activities.
The Chapter is making a equipment request for an additonal conical buoy for this site.
The Powerhouse area is part of the historic Lost Villages area of the St.Lawrence River.
