The wreck lies scattered with much to see. The boiler, engine, anchor block, bilge pump sinks and tools are present. Also the ships bell has been secured to a concrete base and remains at the sight.
On November 13, 1914 the Colonial sprung a leak during a storm. The captain beached the ship in Rondeau Bay. Before the ship could be salvaged it broke up in in the bay.
