  • Description:

Ontario was build in 1874 and came to its demise on August 10th 1899 when she smashed into rocks in the shallows off Battle Island. Carrying a load of coal, this wreck is broken up and scattered on a rock and sand bottom. One of her boilers sits on shore, the other is close in 10' of water. The boiler is an excellent landmark to find the wreck. No lives were lost
