  • Description:

    Theano was transferred from Netherlands to British ownership in 1900. Came to the Great Lakes in 1901. Theano was lost during a major snow storm on November 17 1906 when she was driven onto Trowbridge Island. The crew abandoned ship without loss of life. When the ship's boiler exploded, Theano sank in deep water taking its load of steel rails with her. The wreck was found in 2005 by Ken Merryman, Kraig Smith, Jerry Eliason and Randy Beebe. The wreck sits in 320' of water and is in excellent condition
